All-Haiku Bowl Predictions, 2015

Based on the popularity existence of last year’s article predicting bowl games in haiku form, I present to you this year’s all-haiku bowl game predictions. Still America’s only all-haiku college football bowl game predictions.

These are listed in order of date (earliest first). Some picks are whom I think will win, and some picks are whom I want to win. I’ll leave it to you, the reader, to decide which is which.

Dec. 19th

New Mexico Bowl
This game is back in
its rightful place as the first
bowl game of the year.
Arizona over New Mexico

Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl
I’d never heard of
Royal Purple before now.
Their marketing works.
Utah over BYU

Camellia Bowl
I’m not going to fall
into their trap of looking
up “Camellia”
Appalachian State over Ohio

Cure Bowl
If San Jose wins,
then both these bowl teams will have
a losing record.
San Jose State over Georgia State

New Orleans Bowl
They finally got
a team that’s not Lafayette
to play in this game.
Arkansas State over Louisiana Tech

Dec. 21st

Miami Beach Bowl
I just realized
that Western Kentucky’s name
is the Hilltoppers
Western Kentucky over South Florida

Dec. 22nd

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
I have a hard time
cheering for a football team
that is named the Zips.
Utah State over Akron

Boca Raton Bowl
I think Toledo
might be a bit rusty with
the weeks they’ve had off.
Temple over Toledo

Dec. 23rd

Poinsettia Bowl
I don’t like going
against Boise State but the
Huskies are better
Northern Illinois over Boise State

GoDaddy
They may have changed their
commercials philosophy.
I still dislike them.
Bowling Green over Georgia Southern

Dec. 24th

Bahamas Bowl
Maybe a team from
Michigan can pull out a
victory this time.
Western Michigan over Middle Tenn.

Hawaii Bowl
Don’t let the Aztec’s
10 and 3 record fool you –
their conference is weak.
Cincinnati over San Diego State

Dec. 26th

St. Petersburg Bowl
UConn has played a
lot better teams than Marshall.
Now’s their chance to win.
Connecticut over Marshall

Sun Bowl
The Cougars’ logo
is too busy for my tastes.
I’ll still pick them though.
Washington State over Miami (Fla.)

Heart of Dallas Bowl
The stars at night are
big and bright, deep in the Heart
of Dallas Bowl game
Southern Miss over Washington

Pinstripe Bowl
It’s hard to pick this
game, but Indiana’s pass
defense is awful.
Duke over Indiana

Independence Bowl
I think the Hokies
will deliver and will win
one for the Beamer.
Virginia Tech over Tulsa

Foster Farms Bowl
The Cornhuskers have
a signature win this year,
but it’s only one.
UCLA over Nebraska

Dec. 28th

Military Bowl
It will be tough for
Pittsburgh to handle Navy’s
good rushing offense.
Navy over Pittsburgh

Quick Lane Bowl
Based on the common
opponent of Kent State, I
must pick CMU.
Central Michigan over Minnesota

Dec. 29th

Armed Forces Bowl
Both military-
themed bowls include a branch of
the military.
Air Force over California

Russell Athletic Bowl
This should be a fun
matchup between these two teams.
Baylor’s beat up, though.
North Carolina over Baylor

Arizona Bowl
In a battle of
Rams versus Wolfpack, I think
the Wolfpack will win.
Nevada over Colorado State

Texas Bowl
It’s a good thing for
LSU that this is not
the Texas Tech bowl
LSU over Texas Tech

Dec. 30th

Birmingham Bowl
What else is there to
do on New Year’s Adam but
watch middling bowl games?
Memphis over Auburn

Belk Bowl
This pick assumes that
the MSU players can
stay unarrested.
Miss. State over NC State

Music City Bowl
This is the first time
that either of these teams have
played in this bowl game.
Texas A&M over Louisville

Holiday Bowl
This game is aiming
to be the 4th string Rose Bowl.
It still might be fun.
Wisconsin over USC

Dec. 31st

Peach Bowl
I will be cheering
for the little guy, but I’m
not that confident.
Houston over Florida State

Orange Bowl
Let’s change the phrase from
the sooner the better to
Clemson the better
Clemson over Oklahoma

Cotton Bowl
This pick assumes that
Cook will be able to stay
healthy in the game
Michigan State over Alabama

Jan. 1st

Outback Bowl
The Outback Bowl should
be played in Australia,
not in Florida
Northwestern over Tennessee

Citrus Bowl
Get ready for all
the puns about the Har-bowl.
Not a bad first year.
Michigan over Florida

Fiesta Bowl
OSU gets to
play a top-ranked team again.
That’s been rare this year.
Notre Dame over Ohio State

Rose Bowl
The Cardinal have
a good running back but the
Hawkeyes have a team.
Iowa over Stanford

Sugar Bowl
Nothing personal,
but I cheer against the U
of Mississippi.
Oklahoma State over Ole Miss

Jan. 2nd

Taxslayer Bowl
Only important
bowl games should be played after
January 1st.
Georgia over Penn State

Liberty Bowl
There are worse teams that
qualified for bowl games, but
K State is not good
Arkansas over Kansas State

Alamo Bowl
TCU wants to
be taken seriously.
A win here would help.
TCU over Oregon

Cactus Bowl
Not the latest start
but if they try they could be
the latest ending
West Virginia over Arizona State

Jan. 11th

Cleverly-named National Championship Game Bowl
This pick will not be
worth much if I got both the
semifinals wrong.
Clemson over Michigan State

And that’s it for this year’s BCS and non-BCS bowl game predictions. Tune in later, about the second week of January, for the results show.

Then Abner said to Joab, “Now let the young men arise and hold a contest before us.” And Joab said, “Let them arise.”
