All-Haiku Bowl Predictions, 2013

Based on the popularity existence of last year’s article predicting bowl games in haiku form, I present to you this year’s all-haiku bowl game predictions. Still America’s only all-haiku college football bowl game predictions.

These are listed in order of date (earliest first). Some picks are whom I think will win, and some picks are whom I want to win. I’ll leave it to you, the reader, to decide which is which.

Dec. 21st

New Mexico Bowl
This bowl game moved back.
Now it will take forever
to reach November.
Washington St. over Colorado St.

Las Vegas Bowl
Yes, they are in the
Mountain West but Fresno State
is not like Boise
USC over Fresno St.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
The northernmost bowl.
And of these teams, Buffalo
is the northernmore
San Diego St. over Buffalo

New Orleans Bowl
I dislike a team
whose nickname is not plural.
Down with the Green Wave!
ULL over Tulane

Dec. 23rd

Beef ‘O’Brady’s Bowl
It’s the fourth year for
this bowl and I don’t know who
Beef O’Brady is
E. Carolina over Ohio

Dec. 24th

Hawaii Bowl
Boise State hired a
former quarterback to coach.
Worked well for Harbaugh.
Oregon St. over Boise St.

Dec. 26th

Little Caesars Bowl
Bowling Green is on
a 5-game winning streak and
wants to make it 6.
Bowling Green over Pittsburgh

Poinsettia Bowl
NIU was so
close to a BCS berth.
They’re motivated.
N. Illinois over Utah St.

Dec. 27th

Military Bowl
Unlike the other
military bowl, this one
has no armed forces.
Marshall over Maryland

Texas Bowl
The Gophers don’t mind
that Texas picked them again –
they get to thaw out.
Minnesota over Syracuse

Fight Hunger Bowl
Hard to fight without
a service academy.
Now hunger might win.
Washington over BYU

Dec. 28th

Pinstripe Bowl
Notre Dame has no
coordinators on staff.
Kelly runs it all.
Notre Dame over Rutgers

Belk Bowl
What is the deal with
Charlotte and Cincinnati?
There are other teams…
Cincinnati over UNC

Russell Athletic Bowl
Now that there are no
disatractions for Bridgewater
the Cards should do well.
Louisville over Miami

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Michigan creates
Buffalo Wild Winged Helmets
just for this bowl game.
Michigan over KSU

Dec. 30th

Armed Forces Bowl
Middle Tennessee
is far from any shoreline –
can’t handle Navy.
Navy over Middle Tennessee

Music City Bowl
There are no bowls with
6 and 6 teams – this one’s the
Mediocre Bowl.
Georgia Tech over Ole Miss

Alamo Bowl
Oregon will not
let Mack Brown off the hook for
his last game to coach.
Oregon over Texas

Holiday Bowl
Texas Tech is on
a 5-game losing streak and
they want it to stop.
Arizona St. over Texas Tech

Dec. 31st

Advocare Bowl
Independence Bowl
is no more – now it depends
on Advocare’s help.
Boston College over Arizona

Sun Bowl
If you lost to Duke,
I don’t know that I can pick
you to win your bowl.
UCLA over VT

Liberty Bowl
Bulldogs won’t need the
Liberty Bell for the game –
fans bring their own bells.
Mississippi St. over Rice

Chick-fil-A Bowl
Great for Duke that they
made it to a bowl game but
this one won’t be fun.
Texas A&M over Duke

Jan. 1st

Gator Bowl
“So we meet again…”
Just in a different venue –
best 2 out of 3.
Georgia over Nebraska

Heart of Dallas Bowl
This bowl is one of
the reasons why people say
there are too many.
UNLV over North Texas

Outback Bowl
The Outback Bowl should
be played in Australia,
not in Florida
LSU over Iowa

Capital One Bowl
I think SEC
teams like being paired with their
Big Ten counterparts.
South Carolina over Wisconsin

Rose Bowl
I predict defense
will dominate and make this
a low-scoring game.
Michigan St. over Stanford

Fiesta Bowl
I like cheering for
an underdog – Baylor fills
that role in Big 12.
Baylor over UCF

Jan. 2nd

Sugar Bowl
Oklahoma fans
hope Saban is distracted
by contract dealings.
Alabama over Oklahoma

Jan. 3th

Cotton Bowl
This looks to be an
exciting game to see who
will get their third loss.
Missouri over Oklahoma St.

Orange Bowl
The Orange Bowl should be
considered a home game for
the orange Clemson team.
Clemson over Ohio St.

Jan. 4th

BBVA Compass Bowl
Houston football teams
are underwhelming this year,
even in this bowl.
Vanderbilt over Houston

Jan. 5th

GoDaddy.com
They may have changed their
commercials philosophy.
I still dislike them.
Ball St. over Arkansas St.

Jan. 6th

Cleverly-named National Championship Game Bowl
It is possible
that the Heisman trophy is
not a curse to them.
Florida St. over Auburn

    I get the feeling I will be seeing that comment every year. The New Mexico Bowl will probably be defunct before the Lobos make it.
